While in Lancaster, PA, my wife and I toured the Amish area. Through our tour guid, we learned about the passion and purpose, which inspires these Godly people. Their Christian spirituality is the framework that sets their lifestyle.
The picture below show mules that are the power force to pull the plows, hay wagons, balers, hay cutters, and wagons through the acres of farm land.
Tractors often must be adapted for off-road use only, lest they provide the opportunity to go too far from home. This usually means steel tires rather than rubber.
The Amish look to God for help in this dangerous world. When they are face with problems, their first instinct is to pray rather than to seek a quick fix. They learned patience; they feel demanding a quick fix signals a lack of trust in God.
I hope you enjoyed this little article and have an opportunity to tour and visit an Amish community.
Have you ever walked through the woods on a cloudy night? Strange sounds that screech like finger nails scraping against a chalk board or the dried leaves and twigs snapping under foot, my eyes are blinded from the pitch black darkness. Not a twinkling of light shows through the forest canopy.
Panic enters the mind. I walk with soft tiny steps to feel each little stone or root. My steps quicken then something springs up and hits my leg, it is a stick big enough to use as a blind man’s cane.
On the darkened path a pair of red beady eyes stare at me. All I see are those horrific eyes without face or form. I fall to my knees, my hands cup my face tears stream down my cheeks. I am lost with no one to help me. I cry out. “My God, my God what evil lurks within this darkness.” “Help me, please help me.” I have no idea how long I laid there in a fetal position.
I open my eyes and rise to my feet. Up ahead I see a lighted path, at that moment a peace comes over me. It’s like how a baby feels a comfort and protection when it is in the arms of its’ parent. The lighted path is narrow and the way to it is hard. To journey cautiously in the woods at night, we need a light in order to avoid the pitfalls of the darkness. In this life we venture through a dark forest of evil, but God’s word can be our light to show us the way.
Are guided by the light on your path or road to keep you from stumbling and falling?
Remember when you said “I’d never forgive that person”. Then you’d sit there with a hot coffee, you’re steaming over the incident. With unsteady hands you grip the cup and lift it to your lips cautiously sipping the bitter taste. The smell of the coffee permeates the room as your mind replays the issue. As you gently set the cup to the table, you begin to take control.
The title of this post is C.O.F.F.E.E. Its acronym is:
Christ Offers Forgiveness for Everyone Everywhere
Un-forgiveness is like a stage four cancer, it will continue to eat and tear at you until you have no life. Un-forgiveness is a sin. The only cure for un-forgiveness is to forgive and ask the Lord to cleanse you of the sin. He knows you won’t forget; but He knows you can forgive. Then a miracle happens, you begin to have joy, pleasure and peace of mind.
If you are not a believer, this is a quote by T.D. Jakes: “I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn’t then live my life as if there isn’t and die to find out there is.”
I am one of many thousands that believe that all the universes and our little planet earth was created by God. I know I was put here on earth to be a servant to God. One of my jobs is to provide a well kept planet. I am thankful my little area of earth is filled with an abundance of healthy colorful trees, mountains and plants. The air and water meets the standard healthy grade as per our Government.
It saddens me to see people in other countries wear masks to protect their lungs from the polluted air. The water not safe to drink due to high levels of poisonous chemicals. Plants are tainted with harmful substances that is unfit for human consumption. Animals dying by poachers in order to provide for a sinful need. Depletion of fish due to illegal means of catching.
If I were to see God now, I think I’d see tears of sorrow and disappointment as he looks out over earth. A planet he created with love for our pleasure, contentment and unselfish needs. This is not the first time he has seen greed take the place of his blessings. All He ever wanted from us is to worship, love, obey, be righteous and give Him all the thanks and glory everyday, a simple request. How easy it is for greed to devour our earth.

We must not be careless as we fullfill this charge. Like the creator, we should care for the earth responsibly and lovingly.
It is great to know you are alive. I can feel your breath and hear you breathe. Your breath is like a feathery touch as it blows gently against my skin. The slow back and forth sway of the thin branches creak with each inhale and exhale of your breath.
Your eyes open slowly. A beam of white light spreads above the darkness on the horizon. Patches of light fog filters the white glow. As the sun rises and the fog lifts, a bright, clear, new day begins. It’s like you are smiling and happy to see me.
The sweet smell of life is all around. The potpourri of pines, persimmons and the musty scent of rich soil permeates the area. Drips of morning dew glisten on the patches of grass like a gentle mist sprinkled down from heaven.
The choir of birds sing their chorus of melodies of joy as their day opens. It is like angels singing praise and worship as you watch over your children. Thank you Lord for my life, it is a pleasure to serve you and do your will.
