Have you walked alone through the woods in the early dawn? Birds chirping and squirrels skittering over the fallen leaves. A light cloudy fog raises from the heat of nature’s compost.
Suddenly, everything is quiet. The hairs on the back of your neck stand straight. You quickly look right and left just knowing someone is watching. The pace quickens, the heart beats faster.
I am not a believer in re-incarnation. I took a few photos of what appears like a face protruding from tree trunks. I wonder if these faces are of people that died and were given another life within a tree. When you walk through the woods, you never know what watches over you.

The things on the shelf;
A shelf will hold objects that will show a story. What do the things on your shelf say about you? Maybe that rigid piece of material holds pieces of your past. A few pictures of friends from a school graduation you haven’t seen for many years. “Friends for ever” many years later dust covers the frames, the pictures start to fade. If you know the address of those friends, maybe it’s time to send those friends a handwritten note. Does that shelf hold your trophies and objects? A trophy for first place. The joy and excitement at that moment lessen with time. Later the pride begins to humble. Is it time to move on and take the trophies off the shelf? Some objects are things to indicate your hobbies or career are now dust collectors.
What does your shelf hold?
Another meeting, every topic is black or white nothing in between. You’d think the upper echelons would reach for higher levels. Soon they will demand us to wear various shades of black. If the meeting doesn’t start soon, I will be late for my acrophobia meeting.
