I have been to Sturbridge Village in MA and it sounds similar. Another great spot like this that I have visited is the Fortress at Louisberg 18th Century. The actors there speak in English and French. My oldest two sons were preschoolers back in the day and boy – did they love talking to soldiers. …Though they weren’t sure what they thought of that occupation when they learned the men didn’t earn enough money to marry! 😉
It is interesting to listen to the actors portray special events and watch the craftsman make various objects. It is nice to see them dress in that time period.

I haven’t been there yet. I almost brought my youngest son there a few years back for vacation. We ended up at Virginia Beach instead.
